Hi All, 

My Name is Clarissa Fairchild-Herondale and I am the New York Institute's Runes Master.

But you can call me Clary. I was born in Manhattan New York to Jocelyn Fairchild. Raised in Brooklyn by my mother Jocelyn and gardian Lucian Garroway who I call Dad. My best friend in the entire world is Simon Lewis who also happens to be a daylighter. For 18 years I was raised mundane, but on my 18th birthday I discovered a whole new world hidden within New York.  It was on that day that I met 4 incredible people that I now call family. Jace, Isabelle, Alec and Magnus changed my life in so many ways. that I could not possibly thank them enough. 

You see the thing about me is I was raised mundane believing that my "father" was a fire fighter who died saving people in the World Trade Center during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It was when I went to the Silent City and had a sword dangled over my head that I learned the truth. I was not mundane, my father was not the man I was raised to believe he was. In fact my father was alive and well... His name you ask? Valentine Morgenstern. Valentine was not the only surprise, I also has an older brother who's name was Jonathan Morgenstern. 

In my quest to find the truth I learned things that I never wanted to know about who I am and where I came from. I had to face death as it staired at me in the face, witness the man I love being killed by my own father, and learning that all Valentine cared about was purifying the bloodlines. It was on the shores of lake Lynn in Idris that I finaly had my revenge on Valentine for my mother's death and Jaces. It wasn't easy, he wanted to have Raziel grant his wish that all Downworlders and those loytal to them die. Fearing for those I loved I faught and killed Valentine. In doing so I stopped his wish and made my own, seeing Jace's lifeless body on the shore I knew what I had to do. So I made a wish in place of Valentines and that is how Jace was brought back to life and the Downworlders lives spared. 

But don't be mistaken what I did had its consequences. Jace was possessed by a greater demon, Lilith. He nearly killed me, but thanks to Simon I'm alive. Then there was the time I almost burnt alive at the Guard for making sed wish that saved lives. Again I escaped with my life only to be taken by the Owl (Jace) to Lilith. She used me to bring her son back to life, by bonding my life with Jonathan. As long as I lived so shall he. It was an awful experience to be trapped with somone you hate with no way out. That was until Jace, Alec and Luke rescued me in Paris. Though that was not the last problem I had to face, becuase of the rune that Lilith drew on me I eventually became evil turning on those I loved in favor of my brother. But the quick thinking of Isabelle, and the rest of my family my bond with Jonathan was severed. 

Again more consequences. Jonathan started an all out war in Idris that spread from La, to Chicago, to New York to Toronto. He wanted me to watch as my world suffered. In that moment I knew what I needed to do. Kill him. I had Magnus portal me to Toronto where I confronted my brother one last time, despite all that he had done  he was my brother and I did love him. I still do to this day. I killed Jonathan to save my family and I have no regrets. 

In our line of work nothing comes easy, you win some you lose some. I lost a lot in my first year as a Shadowhunter. My mother was murdered, I nearly lost Jace twice! Izzy Alec Simon Magnus Luke... I nearly lost all of them. Yet the bonds of family remian stronger then ever. I am now happily married to the love of my life Jace Herondale and together we've raised 9 amazing children and we have 5 beautiful grandchildren.

Our battles are far from over, even with Valentine and Jonathan dead new enemies are always waiting to strike. 

Yet I have no fear of what's to come because with Darcey Knight at the helm we are truly unstopable!
